How can I try MessMate?

MessMate is currently in a closed Android beta. Request access with your city and whether you’re a student or a mess owner. Availability depends on participating messes in your area.

Do I pay for meals through MessMate?

No. Pay your mess owner directly, for example by cash or UPI. The owner activates your subscription in the app after payment.

What happens when the internet is down?

The app can cache meal passes and queue eligible scans on the owner’s device. Queued scans are reconciled when connectivity returns; an initial setup and sync still need internet access.

How does the meal QR work?

Your meal pass uses a short-lived signed code that refreshes regularly. Scan validation and duplicate checks help prevent the same meal entitlement being used more than once.

Can an owner close a meal slot or take a day off?

Yes. Owners can set regular weekly meal closures and add one-off full-day closures, which students can see in the app.

Is MessMate available on iPhone?

The beta is Android-first. iPhone availability has not been announced yet.
